Sean and Annie first met at Heritage Coffee in Chicago in December 2022. One coffee turned into hours of conversation, a long walk to the Christkindlmarket, and an afternoon of ice-skating because neither of them wanted the day to end.

Two months after their first date, it became clear they wouldn’t be living in the same city. Annie moved to Washington, D.C. for work, and Sean later moved to New York City to be near family and friends. Long distance began, filled with Amtrak tickets, weekend visits, coffee shop dates, a recipe book created together, and trips to each other’s families in Connecticut and Seattle. Over the three years, they learned how to show up for each other through moves and life's unexpected adventures.

In Fall 2025, Sean brought Annie to the Queens Botanical Garden, where he surprised her with his grandmother’s ring to propose. She said yes! After years of train rides, Annie transferred to the New York City office, closing the distance at last.

They are grateful for the families and friends brought together over the past three years and look forward to celebrating with loved ones as they begin their life together.
